Art statement
I am always interested about the emotion and love, whether it is for people, animals or even the inanimate objects. Love is what makes people different. Because of love, we make decisions, sometimes the decisions are good, sometimes they are terrible. For me, every story starts from love. Every thing against love, for example, grudge,is attributed to love.
In project 2, I deviate from what I have always done.I try to expend my point of view by working on totally different projects. This time, I am inspired by the incarnation, graphically, it is like a cycle. I believe that the world is a cycle. Every thing works and returns in an order. Also, I believe there are two sides to one coin. Through different angles, people may have different conclusion in single event. In project 2, a man walks into huge, brightly room. But finally, it appears to be that the man is in the local room which is actually in the universe. A big room in the beginning turns into relatively tiny room compares with the universe. What we see may actually not be what we see. Changing the different perspectives can make things more clearly. It is a cycle of consciousness.

Pixframe-test01
My first test of the forward part of project.
second version Storyboard
1.pale, brightly room full with pixel-like square
(would like to create some fog here)
2.Some one open the door
Cut on the motion
3.Closer camera
4.He looked around
5.Found there is a drawer with handle
6.He walked closer to open the drawer
7.Out side the room
8.Camera zoom out, the scese turned into low quality image.
9. the low quality image turned into galaxy, which is also constituted of pixels.
10.The galaxy turned into high quality one.
11.Camera zoomed out and we find that that's a person's eyes.
12.The camera kept zoomed out and we can see the man's face and body.
13.The camera moved behind the man and followed him.
14. The man walked to a brightly room and the scene fade out.

Omelette-Squash & Stretch
Omelette-Squash & Stretch
Mavis
"Omelette" is made by Madeline Sharafian, who is a third year student in Calarts and she wants to show how meaningful it is to make food for someone you love. The story is about the dog which makes the food for the exhausted man comes home after work.
Squash & Stretch is used to depict exaggerated animated motion. It makes the motion larger than life, rather than more swift, realistic, and sometimes unnoticed in passing observation. It's a sense of weight and flexibility and indicates the rigidity of the material.
It's by far the most important and one of the 12 principles in traditional animation. To explain this principles, you can see the image below, the left side shows a ball bouncing with a rigid, non-dynamic movement. However the right side is "squashed" at impact, and "stretched" during full and rebounce.
When a person smiles, the shape of the face is determined by the movement of muscles underneath a layer of skin. During a smile, with the widening of the mouth and jaw, it does not. The object is simply displacing its matter into the stretch shape. The most important rule to squash and stretch is that no matter hoe squash or stretch out an object gets, it's volume remains constant!
I chose three parts of the animation to show how great is it to use the squash and stretch. When the dog falls, his body stretch because of the gravity. When it reaches the floor, his body absorbs the impact and force not only transfering but also disturbing it out of the shape.
Squash and Stretch often cooperates with Exaggeration. These two principles play a great role in character animation.
To sum up, I want to apply the Squash and Stretch in my animation in the future. Depending on the plots of my project, I may change the level of the Squash and Stretch. But I do want to observe more and play with this principles.

Response of the Winter Day
http://anilinkz.com/fuyu-no-hi-winter-days
Winter Days(冬の日Fuyu no Hi)
It's a Japanese film directed by Kihachiro Kawamoto. The creation of the film also followed the traditional collaborative nature of the source material. This film is made of several sequences which are all under a minute.
"Accustomed as I am to extreme poverty, I still feel sorry for myself. Suddenly remembering the master of mad verse who traveled in this province long ago, I wrote...."
The main character in this film traveled to a small province to visit the master of mad verse. He walked in the forest and kept listening the tree through a small device.
He walked to a tree which was leaves were falling down. It seemed like he observed the tree and slightly knocked on the tree. Then the woodpecker came.
This man looks like have the power to cure other people, including trees. So that the wood pecker came the eat the warm inside of the tree. Also he helped remove the itch from the master. In the end the man grabbed the cloth and looked at the master through it. He exchanged the hat with the master. He worn the hat with the rip and left.
This story reminds me the doctrine of buddism which claims that people should sacrifice themselves to help people. Although the man came to visit the master, he cured the master and gave him his hat. In the end the hat was blew away and disappeared in the distance. For me, it looks like it's implying the continue of the doctrine of the buddism.

Respond to the Derrida
"Context is ever expandable, never exhaustive and never finished. Similarly the way that works of art may be framed, moving beyond not only the literal possibilities (within works of art), may allow us to consider the frame not simply as somthing related to painting, but simply related the way we view the world, the way we frame the world."- Jasques Derrida
This quote reminds me of Roland Barthes's theory-"The death of the author". The meaning of the work is omnipresent. It can't be restricted by the physical limitation such as frame. It last forever and and received by different audience and convey into significant perception. (though Barthes claims that the spirit of the work has changed into totally distinct meaning.)
I agree with Derrida's point that every one is framed by the institute, the culture. We are trying to connect with the art work when we look at it. What we are doing is filtering the unrelated information and picking out the similar memory and thoughts. We conduct these conclusion and connect with the art work. But our thoughts and perception have already influenced, moreover, framed, by the environment we grew up, the information we received and anything we learned. Being open minded and expending our horizon can enrich our intention and indeed, have more reaction and response to the world.

Response of the time & again
http://vimeo.com/12039741
This animation describes the routine that everybody undergo every.
This man has a boring job. He drives the main road which is the closet way to his company. His peer doesn't want to talk with him. He loves someone who doesn't love him.
All he does every day is waiting for time pass.
Time & Again alludes to the man's daily life. The man in this short film suffers from boring and immutable day doing the same work again and again. He just to wait for the time to get off the work. For him, time equals again. In my opinions, Again means repeating the same stuff. However, time is variation. If I have interesting life and challenging work, time against again.
Lots of people don't have passion to their life or job. Life is insignificant for them. They calculate the remain. They have no goal to achieve, just like the man in this animation. We should own our enthusiasm toward our life. Do the job I love and live the life I want. Then we may find the time is not again anymore.

I did some sketh. In the begining I made a creature which extremely like naked woman which actually not people.
I tried some type which this creature appear, or aome art style.
Because I gave this creature special motion style. I tried some way which it changed its shape.
I also visited some websites and try other artists' work to figure out which style I prefer.
Inspiration VIEDO
This video made by Steina Vasulka inspired me. I want to create an animation which contains this kind of "weird " motion.
